Have you seen these Zoo Pals commercials? Every time I hear the song–oink, oink, Zoo Pals–I cringe because I know what’s coming next. “Mommy, can I have those?”
Much like Lelli Kelly shoes and those Kidz Bop CDs, which are also both advertised during my preschooler’s favorite shows, I’m left wondering one thing about these Zoo Pals plates: does anyone actually buy them?
I will admit they are a good idea. Enticing kids to clean their plates so they can see the animal’s face underneath is pretty clever, but is this really the most effective way to get our kids to eat? I was a picky eater, but my options as a child were pretty simple–eat the food on your plate or go hungry.
