With a much lighter social calendar this year, celebrities are going all out for every single event they attend, and this year’s People’s Choice Awards proves it.
The red carpet, although sparser this year, was full of jaw-dropping fashion moments and risky wardrobe choices. A-listers like Jennifer Lopez and Demi Lovato made the most of the night in stunning outfits–from mini dresses to sequined gowns.

Demi Lovato
As the host of last night's show, Demi went through several outfit changes, but our favorite look of hers has to be this shimmery ball gown. The low-cut dress brought all of the star power (literally and figuratively) with star designs along the sides.
Although this dress made Demi look seriously amazing, that did not mean the singer took herself too seriously throughout the show. In fact, during her opening monologue, the 28-year-old joked about her recent breakup.
Describing her time in quarantine, she joked, "So I did what everyone else did, I went into lockdown mode, and got engaged. I got into painting, photography, meditation, tested the limits of post mates unlimited. Also, I didn't know this could happen, but reached the end of Instagram four times. I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got unengaged, then went looking for aliens in the desert. So basically the same as everyone else."
Sofia Vergara
Sofia Vergara also attended the award show in person, and the singer won big, taking home the award for Comedy TV Star of 2020 for her role as Gloria in Modern Family.
The actress wore a stunning red lace gown with a flattering skirt for the show, which of course looked incredible on her. However, it was Vergara's acceptance speech that really got people talking. She said, "This is a very, very special award because, as you know, nine months ago we finished Modern Family forever. So, this is the last award that I'm ever, ever gonna receive for the show, the show that changed my life. My career."
As if her sentimental words were not enough, Vergara also made a point to shout out her co-star, Ed O'Neil who played opposite her in the show: "I miss you, Ed O'Neill!"
Ellen Pompeo
Ellen Pompeo also attended the awards this year, and the Grey's Anatomy star stunned in a sheer suit. Unsurprisingly, the actress won the award for Female TV Star of 2020.
She dedicated her acceptance speech to the fans of the show, explaining, "If it weren't for all of you who support us and watch us every week, we would never get to have the fun that we get to have and touch the lives that we get to touch and just live out our dreams, so I should be giving all of you this award."
She was right; fans are definitely watching and supporting Grey's every week, especially now that Patrick Dempsey's recent appearance on the show.
Jennifer Lopez
J.Lo's mini dress was one of the stars of the show. The 51-year-old took home the coveted award for People's Icon of 2020, but she probably could have taken home the award for best dressed too. She looked seriously stunning in her Christian Siriano red dress that showed off her toned legs to perfection.
Lopez chose a matching red lip for her makeup to compliment the dress, and her sleek updo added another layer of sophistication to the overall look.
