There could be several reasons why your Internet speed is slowed down, but one known culprit is streaming apps. Four streaming apps that can cause your smartphone to feel bogged down include Spotify, YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu. But considering how important these apps are for everyday entertainment, instead of deleting them there are other ways you can help speed up your phone.

There’s the obvious problem — a small chance that your iPhone’s battery is old and needs to be replaced. But it’s just as possible there are other reasons why your phone is not running as quickly as it used to — and simple steps you can take to remedy the situation.

 

For starters, restart or force restart your phone. Sounds deceptively simple, but many smartphone problems are solved with this simple solution.

After you restart your phone, head over to Settings to make sure your phone’s software is updated. Many iOS updated include little fixes that can speed up your phone’s performance. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and make sure Automatic Updates is set to “On.” If there is a new software update waiting for you, make sure you install it.

Finally, get rid of any old apps that you no longer use and that are bogging down your phone by deleting them. then clear your cache to remove info about your search history and other data like passwords. To clear your iPhone cache for Safari go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
