Jennifer Lopez isn’t the only one moving on! A source close to Alex Rodriguez told Us Weekly that the baseball player has really hit it off with model Kathryne Padgett after his breakup, noting that the two have “great chemistry.” Good for him!
“The two have been hanging out for the last few months,” the insider dished, adding that “they never get bored together and have a lot of fun.” However, they pointed out that the budding couple “haven’t put a title on their relationship and aren’t going around telling their friends they’re official.” Alright, we can respect a slow burn! Regardless, the fire is there: the source told Us that “sparks are flying” between Rodriguez, 46, and Padgett, 25.

And while they may not be publicly labeling their relationship status, the athlete certainly isn’t shying away from showing affection. Us Weekly’s insider pointed out that Rodriguez is “always leaving flirtatious comments on [Padgett’s] IG,” and claims “he’s really into her.” We love that for them!
In fact, the sports broadcaster has been making his mark on the model’s posts since April 7, when he commented a clapping emoji on a photo of her posing at Oakland Coliseum. “Happy Opening Day,” she wrote in the caption. This post followed the duo’s first public appearance together at a Minnesota Timberwolves game.

When one commenter asked if Rodriguez had snapped the photo himself, he confirmed with a reply that read, “Yes.” Straight to the point!
It’s great to see him exploring a new love, since Lopez, 52 certainly has found her own happy ending since their April 2021 split. The “On the Floor” singer is now happier than ever and engaged (for the second time) to Ben Affleck, with whom she shares a very public and adorable relationship.
When and if they become official, Padgett will be Rodriguez’s first official relationship since his breakup with Lopez. Our fingers are crossed that there’s a happy ending for everyone involved here!
