Alex Rodriguez does not shy away from talking about his relationship with Jennifer Lopez, and the baseball legend recently let slip his fiancé’s nerves ahead of her Inauguration performance.
During an appearance of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, A-Rod explained that Lopez was more nervous ahead of the inauguration than she was even her Super Bowl halftime show, commenting that she felt a greater “responsibility” when it came to her D.C. performance.
Rodriguez told the talk show host, "What’s interesting is she’s most nervous about Washington D.C. because of the responsibility."
He continued, "She wants more than anything, like all of us, to bring people together, to inspire. Music and sports do that better than anything."
The Yankee star went on to explain that the year had been a "crazy one" for his fiancé, who had quite the list of performances over the past 12 months.
He explained to Fallon, "So many blessings, but to think in a span of 12 months, she’s done the Super Bowl, New Year’s and now the inaugural, it’s unbelievable."
Although Lopez has had some seriously impressive career achievements throughout the year, her romantic life has been put on an indefinite hold as the couple waits for the pandemic to calm down before getting married.
During the interview, Rodriguez said, "You know, we tried twice in 2020. We got bit twice by COVID-19. You know what they say in baseball, 'Third time’s a charm.' So, let’s hope it’s what we want to hear."
