Amanda Seyfried is one of Time‘s latest ‘100 Most Influential People’ for many reasons— from her powerful performance in Hulu’s The Dropout to her consistently epic red carpet looks, just to name a few. The Mamma Mia! icon, 36, donned a stunning high-low black gown to the Time 100 Gala event and wowed in the silky, gothic and overall one-of-a-kind piece.
Seyfried’s sleeveless dress was designed by Carolina Herrera and featured thin straps, a glamorous neckline with ruffled detailing and a thigh-skimming neckline. This appeared at first to form a sultry minidress, and ultimately, a dramatic, cascading long train in the back followed the actress as graced the red carpet. The Jennifer’s Body star added shiny black pumps with asymmetrical details to complete her look, and tied her signature long, blonde tresses into an intricate and Old Hollywood-esque updo. Stunning!

As for accessories, Seyfried wore a custom choker by Almasika, notably as part of the brand’s “Black Is Brilliant” project from De Beers and RAD to represent Black creative talent. The neck piece, designed by Catherine Sarr, was composed of dark metal with thin curved ridges, as indicated by Seyfried’s longtime stylist, Elizabeth Stewart on Instagram. Glistening diamonds adorned her jewelry, and Seyfried rocked a bold red lip, a smokey eye with blended eyeshadow, a classic eyeliner wing and rosy blush along her cheekbones to emphasize her gorgeous features.

The event was hosted by Time Magazine and highlighted the publication’s “100 most influential people” as featured in its annual issue. The 2022 occasion was held at Jazz at Lincoln Center and hosted by Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings actor Simu Liu. The evening also featured performances by Mary J. Blige and Miranda Lambert. While the event was definitely star-studded, all eyes were on Seyfried and her glorious gown as she posed on the carpet.
In an IG post, Seyfried's stylist posted a behind-the-scenes video of the Letters To Juliet actress getting ready for the gala. In the caption, Stewart gave Seyfried's fans details about her look for the night. Fans headed to Stewart's comment section, sharing their thoughts about Seyfried's outfit. "Stunner as per usual," wrote one fan, while another added that they "loved her necklace," in particular. "Soo beautiful," added another, and we're def in agreement!
