Ana de Armas is one of today’s most headline-making actresses, given her rumored relationship with Tom Cruise and new film releases. She’s also well-known for her chic style, but one of her latest premieres looks has definitely damaged her reputation a bit.

The 37-year-old wore a sheer, bedazzled gown to the Tokyo premiere of her latest action film, Ballerina, which is one of many dresses she’s worn to promote it. However, this look did not go over nearly as well as her past ones, and social media ended up roasting her over it. Some called it a “grandma dress,” and others couldn’t stop themselves from leaving comments about how they thought it was a terrible fashion choice. Read more about it below.

Ana de Armas Wears A Sheer Bedazzled Gown On The Red Carpet For Tokyo's 'Ballerina' Premiere

This week, the Cuban actress attended the premiere of her latest exciting film venture, Ballerina, which is another movie affiliated with the famous John Wick franchise. While the movie has been theatrically released in the United States since June, the cast gathered together for the overseas premiere dressed to the nines.

Ana is typically a hit on the red carpet, often wearing flattering dresses that sometimes are a bit out of the box, yet still complementary. However, this time around, the reception for her Tokyo premiere look was not good. For the event, she wore a long-sleeved, black and silver bedazzled gown. The gown had a rather silhouhette, and was fairly modest, with most of her torso being covered with drapey, silver embellishments. The skirt was slightly sheer, yet was also covered in tiny jewels. It almost looked like a long, sequined gown you'd find in a vintage shop.

In terms of accessories, Ana put on a tall pair of open-toe, black heels, which could be seen slightly through the gown's sheer skirt. She had on large stud earrings and wore her highlighted brown hair in a low bun, with face-framing pieces left down.

Fans React To Ana's Sparkling Gown On Social Media

Given her status as a beauty icon, it's hard for the Knives Out star to look terribly bad, but the dress did not go over well with her fanbase or fashion enthusiasts, who were quite disappointed in her and her styling team's choice. On social media platforms like Instagram, they ended up slamming the gown in the comments, making it clear they were against the Tokyo premiere look entirely.

"The dress is hideous," commented an Instagram user. "Ana is beautiful."

"She's [too] pretty to wear a grandma dress," commented another, as one user wrote that the dress was "awful" despite Ana being a "beautiful girl."

Despite her dress not going over very well, there were still supportive fans of the performer on social media hyping her up, calling her rumored boyfriend, Tom Cruise, a "lucky guy" and commenting that she was "absolutely stunning."

Still, it's no secret that out of all the press tour looks Ana has worn to promote the summer flick, this one certainly ranks lower, and we'll be curious to see how she redeems herself style-wise during her next outing.
