In order to sustain a longer lasting Android battery, it helps to know which apps are among the most draining. Typically, an app that does a lot — such as streaming video, posting constant updates, and featuring other media files like audio clips and photos — taxes your phone’s resources. When that happens, everything can suffer just a little bit. Your battery can be negatively affected, storage space can be taken up, and your phone can work less efficiently.
What’s the solution? It can’t hurt to delete some of the apps that are most notorious for draining your Android battery and wasting storage. These two social media apps are at the top of most tech experts’ lists.
1. Facebook
The Facebook app is a significant source of battery drainage and takes up tons of storage space. It runs background processes, such as syncing notifications, location tracking, and refreshing your feed. Facebook also checks for your location if location services is turned on for it, auto-plays videos, sends you notifications, and takes up a lot of storage on your device.

2. Instagram
As another app in the Meta universe, Instagram can negatively impact your phone in many of the same ways as Facebook. Its media files take up cache, the app size is large, reels and stories are high-resolution media files that require a great deal of data to consume, and things like direct messages, downloaded drafts, and location access are also extremely taxing on your phone.
