The One Feature You Should Adjust For A Longer Android Battery

There are several settings and features you can adjust to save some battery life, like making adjustments to your app usage and more. However, there is one feature that tech experts have noted is super effective when it comes to preserving your battery and getting it to last as long as possible.

Our smartphone displays, like how bright our screens are, how often they're on, and more, can make a big impact on battery life and quickly drain it whenever you're not using it.

Android's Always On Display keeps information visible even when your screen is technically off, like the time, date, notifications, and battery level. While it's convenient, the feature can slowly drain your battery over the day because the screen never fully shuts down.

"Users should turn off Always-on Display (AOD) in 'Display Settings' to noticeably improve battery life," says tech expert Danny Sit with NUU Inc. "Always-on Display keeps portions of the screen and system processes active 24/7 to show the clock, notifications, and other glanceable information. Even though it uses low power, it still draws constant energy from the display panel, sensors, and background processes. Turning it off lets the screen stay fully asleep when not in use, reducing power consumption and extending overall battery life."
