broccoli

1. Broccoli

Dr. Josh Axe says that this green vegetable is essential for an anti-inflammatory diet. "Broccoli is high in both potassium and magnesium, and its antioxidants are particularly potent anti-inflammatory substances in their own right," Josh says.

berries

2. Berries

Dr. Andrew Weil recommends turning to one type of fruit for anti-inflammatory ingredients-- berries. "I can’t be more specific here, because I love the tastes of all kinds of berries, and all have anti-inflammatory effects – in fact, they are among the most healthful foods one can eat," Andrew says.

salmon

3. Salmon

Dr. Nicholas Perricone includes healthy fats, like those found in cold water salmon, in his recommended anti-inflammatory diet. You can also find healthy fats in halibut, sardines, herring, nuts, seeds and olive oil, Nicholas says.

spinach

4. Spinach

Dr. Joseph Blanda includes organic cruciferous vegetables, such as spinach, in his recommended list of go-to anti-inflammatory foods. Spinach is a great option for an anti-inflammatory food to eat because of the nutrients and flavonoids it contains.
