The Obamas Announce The Date Tickets For The Obama Presidential Center Opening Will Go On Sale

The power couple that is Barack and Michelle Obama has certainly not stopped working and making progress in their latest endeavors since leaving the White House at the end of the former president's second term in 2017.

Though both of them have vowed they would not dare to enter the race for the presidency ever again, they haven't stopped working towards helping others and benefiting communities around the U.S. through charitable projects and events. However, what might be the biggest thing they've done outside their time in the White House is opening this summer - the Obama Presidential Center.

The Obama Presidential Center will be a massive property in Chicago's South Side, serving as a museum, library, community center, athletic center, etc. It'll be open to the public and provide a learning space to locals as well as a place for tourists to visit. A few weeks ago, Barack revealed it would be opening on this year's Juneteenth holiday, followed by a special ceremony.

Now, in a new Instagram post, the date to purchase tickets to visit the museum is on sale.

"Tickets to the Obama Presidential Center Museum go on sale May 6. For access to a ticket pre-sale, become an Obama Foundation member today," read the caption of the Obama Foundation's Instagram reel, which contained clips from Barack's farewell speech in 2017.

Now that the opening is officially getting closer and tickets will go on sale soon, that excitement has been growing, and some internet users are even claiming to be emotional over how meaningful the center will be, with what they hope is going to be a long-lasting reputation, keeping the Obama name associated with giving back for years to come.

"The timing of this post," commented a fan on Instagram. "[Bawling] my eyes out."

"We need this right now," wrote another.

"Can't wait to visit on my next trip to Chicago," added a fan. "Been a long time coming!"

"Looking forward to the opening," responded another. "It's going to be a special place!"
