Barack Obama is opening up about his quarantine with his family…but it looks like they had an unexpected guest stay with them: his daughter’s boyfriend.
In an interview with The Bill Simmons Podcast, the former president joked that despite not wanting to like Malia’s boyfriend, Rory Farquharson, he couldn’t help but warming up to him eventually.

During the podcast, Obama explained that he felt lucky to be able to spend the time with his daughters.

"It's a blessing because all the teenage stuff is kind of gone now. They're just back, and they love you again, and they want to spend time with you, and they're funny," he joked.

In the beginning of quarantine, Obama also said that they had a lot of family game nights (like almost everyone else in quarantine).

"Like, I think, a lot of families, we went through that first month where we were playing games every night and doing little arts and crafts projects and then slowly they started to get a little bored with us," he added.
When asked on the show about his favorite quarantine memory, Obama said it was teaching his daughters (plus Malia's boyfriend) how to play spades.

"Maybe teaching Malia and Sasha, and Malia's boyfriend who was with us for a while, spades. And then having some spades games. Teaching them how to properly trash talk and slap the cards down," he said.
Although it might sound awkward to spend quarantine with your daughter's boyfriend, Obama said that they enjoyed having him stay with them.

He explained, "He's British. Wonderful young man. He was sort of stuck because there was a whole visa thing and he had a job set up, so we took him in."
Obama admitted that at first he "didn't want to like" Malia's beau, he had to admit that he was "a good kid."

However, he did have one complaint: Rory's appetite.

He joked, "The only thing you discover... young men eat. It's weird to watch them consume food. My grocery bill went up about 30 percent."
