Bella Hadid is the latest celeb to candidly open up about her mental health, and earlier this week the 25-year-old supermodel shared an extremely open slideshow to Instagram, shedding light on her struggles. As more and more celebrities work to make social media a more realistic platform, Hadid did her piece in shining a light on the reality that what you see on Instagram isn’t always real life.

Evidently inspired by a clip of Willow Smith speaking out about her own mental health struggles, Hadid shared a series of images of herself crying. In the accompanying caption she wrote, “This is pretty much my everyday , every night. For a few years now.” The model continued, “Social media is not real. For anyone struggling , please remember that. Sometimes all you’ve gotta hear is that you’re not alone. So from me to you, you’re not alone. I love you, I see you, and I hear you.”
Hadid then tells fans that there’s always “light at the end of the tunnel,” adding, “it took me a long time to get that in my mind , but I’ve had enough breakdowns and burnouts to know this: if you work hard enough on yourself, spending time alone to understand your traumas , triggers, joys, and routine, you will always be able to understand or learn more about your own pain and how to handle it. Which is all that you can ask of yourself.”

Smith herself commented on Hadid’s post, writing, “Your honesty and tenderness heals so many,” while her sister, Gigi Hadid wrote, “I love you!” in encouragement of the 25-year-old’s candidness.
Hadid has also been open about her physical health struggles with lyme disease in the past, and the last image in the slideshow reveals the model sitting with a number of needles in her arm, evidently treating the disease which has left her with crippling symptoms such as pain, fatigue, difficulty breathing, anxiety, and more. Just as Hadid’s celeb friends are inspired by her honesty, so are we!
