Ben Affleck is known for his love of a good beard, but the 48-year-old actor recently decided to switch up his look, stepping out with a clean shaven face as he headed home from swim practice with his son. Affleck looks virtually unrecognizable in comparison to his often scruffy bearded look, but a nice shave seems to suit him as well.

Affleck also appears to have slimmed down, rocking a noticeably trimmer midsection as he strolled down the street with his son Samuel. After breaking up with his girlfriend of nearly a year, Ana de Armas, in January, it seems that the actor decided it was time to put himself first and prioritize his health.
Affleck has left his home on the west coast to head across the country to film the new movie The Tender Bar, directed by George Clooney, so his new look may be attributed to his next role. However, Ben seems to rock a bushy beard seen in photos from the set of the new flick, so his clean shaven appearance is evidently a personal choice.
De Armas and Affleck decided to call it quits in January of this year after 10 months together, coming after the actress allegedly was not ready to settle in California as her full-time home. She recently took to social media, swiftly denying rumors that she and Affleck were back together with an Instagram story adorned with various “no” and “nope” images. However, the split was amicable and the pair seem to still be on good terms.
