Last week, Blake Lively shared a selfie on her Instagram story of her and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, smiling together in New York City. The post comes amidst the ongoing It Ends With Us lawsuit, as Blake Lively and her costar Justin Baldoni continue to go at one another with accusations. Many social media users thought the selfie was a little tasteless, considering all the drama. Keep reading for more information.

Blake Lively Posts Selfie With Ryan Reynolds

The selfie in question is in New York with the Empire Hotel highlighted behind them, a purposeful nod towards Blake Lively's former role as Serena ven der Woodsen in Gossip Girl. Posted on the evening before Thanksgiving, the pair appeared to be on a date night of sorts, with Reynolds, 49, wearing a white button down and a black tie beneath a cable-knit sweater and camel-colored overcoat, and Lively, 38, wearing a black long-sleeve top and a statement necklace.

Social media users are having one of two reactions: some users think they're trying to distract from all the It Ends With Us legal drama, while others think they're completely disregarding the sensitivities around the lawsuit and posting selfies without a care in the world. Whichever way you swing it, fans aren't happy.

Social Media Reactions

Critics across social media are calling the couple out for their either calculated or simply out-of-touch move. "Oh look, it's Blake and Ryan trying to look relatable," one person wrote. "Meanwhile, they have spent the last year destroying reputations and running people into the ground. These two belong together."

"Blake and Ryan have made a mockery of domestic violence and sexual harassment," another user said. "It's an insult to ACTUAL victims. Survivors are watching."

"I have never seen such a rapid fall from grace in my life," a third user wrote.

"When will they get a clue?" another person said. "We saw what they did and there isn't any coming back from that."

"No amount of selfies will ever repair the damage they've done to their careers," added another.

"So entitled and disingenuous," a final fan posted.
