Blake Lively's Agent Reportedly 'Pulled Strings' To Get Her On The 'TIME100' List
According to The Blast, the Another Simple Favor actress's agent Ari Emanuel played a huge part in her client's inclusion on the list. Another insider reiterated this, telling the Daily Mail: "Some believe that Emanuel may well have pulled strings to get Lively honored by TIME."
The insider also hinted that the the Betty Buzz founder's philanthropy is the real reason for her inclusion on the list, and referenced her respective $200,000 and $1M donations to civil rights causes in 2020 and 2021. This was echoed by American lawyer Sherrilyn Ifill, who is famous for her work with the NAACP, who wrote a blurb for TIME in honor of Blake being on the list.
Ifill wrote: "I don't know the Blake Lively of the red carpet. Or the Met Gala. I never watched Gossip Girl. The Blake Lively I know is a philanthropist." She then referenced Blake and husband Ryan Reynolds' substantial 2019 donation to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and noted that she "did her homework" before finding the right cause to support. [What] has she influenced people to do?" asked one confused X user, as a second agreed, writing: "How much did Blake pay TIME for a spot?" "Damn! Blake's PR team going to be turning clients away!" exclaimed a third.
"Blake Lively have dirt on TIME as well?" asked a fourth, followed by a crying laughing emoji. "Blake Lively being on this list is an insult to the rest of the recipients who actually deserve it," thought a fifth, as a sixth slammed: "Blake? Yeah can't take this seriously."
