Carrie Underwood fans are thrilled as she recently made a career-related announcement that has nothing to do with American Idol.

Just days before the new season premiere of the singing competition show, the country artist revealed she would be performing at the Wildlands music festival in Montana. Due to her newfound stardom as a television personality and a lot of special, one-time performances at elite venues like the Grand Ole Opry, many of Carrie’s fans haven’t seen her perform live in a while. Therefore, when the announcement was made, many of them shared their excitement on social media. Read more about her upcoming festival appearance below.

Carrie Underwood Announces She's Playing The Wildlands Music Festival In Montana

The "Before He Cheats" singer's career has truly gone full circle over the last few years, becoming the season four champion of American Idol, a country music superstar, award-winner, and now, a favored host on the singing series. As much as fans have loved seeing her return to her roots, many have missed her solo music career ventures at the same time.

Carrie pleased many fans and Idol viewers when she revealed she'd be returning to the show last fall. The premiere of the highly anticipated season is only three days away, and while she'll be fully committed to the season, those who have missed hearing her sing live are now in for a treat.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the mom-of-two would be a headline performer at the Wildlands music festival in Big Sky, Montana, this summer, marking her first festival appearance in two years.

Fans React To Carrie's Festival Announcement On Social Media

Once the news about the 42-year-old's festival set was shared on social media, fans of hers and country music alike began flooding social media with excited comments, as a lot of them were happy about the fact that she would be performing live for a large crowd once again.

One fan wrote they think Carrie's performance will be "extremely worth getting a ticket for," on Instagram.

"That's awesome!" added another.

"No freaking way!" commented a fan. "So excited!"

"I'm there for Carrie," wrote an Instagram user.

Other fans were excited by the other parts of the lineup, too, including fellow country and folk musicians Riley Green, Leann Rimes, and Kaitlin Butts.

"Freaking out over this lineup," added a user.

"I am so excited!" wrote another. "The best lineup!"

The Wildlands festival is expected to take place over two days, July 31st and August 1st, and tickets went on sale yesterday, so any fans who want to see the Idol icon perform in 'Big Sky Country' should look into snatching theirs as soon as possible.
