The Florida-based burger chain was slammed for a 5-word tweet for International Women’s Day on March 8th. What were they thinking?!
It didn't just get grilled, it got absolutely char-broiled for posting "Women belong in the kitchen," on the holiday.

Burger King UK later asserted that their original Tweet was meant to be ironic, noting that the second half of the tweet read, "if they want to of course." But that wasn't before the internet absolutely destroyed them for the gaffe.

The chain restaurant was quick to respond to the backlash.
"We hear you. We got our initial tweet wrong and we’re sorry," they later tweeted.
"Our aim was to draw attention to the fact that only 20% of professional chefs in UK kitchens are women and to help change that by awarding culinary scholarships. We will do better next time," they said. We sure hope so!
