Not everyone feels the need to fill the maternal role and Cameron Diaz had said in the past that she, “was never drawn to being a mother.” However, things changed with the birth of her daughter Raddix in early 2020, and Diaz recently opened up about life with Benji Madden and being parents in the public eye.

Diaz and Madden have been happily married for the last six years and announced at the beginning of 2020 that they had welcomed a baby girl into the world, managing to hide the pregnancy for the entirety of the 9 months. A source close to the couple told E! News, “They are absolutely elated. They wanted this for so long and so many years, it’s all very surreal.”
Diaz admitted that she’s happy to be starting a family in the later years of her life after her career has settled down. “Even with all the amazing experiences I’ve had in traveling, and accomplishments of working hard and putting things into the world I’m proud of, I know, this is the most gratifying time in my life, to be in this place, to get here,” she told Naomi Campbell on the YouTube series No Filter.
Only six years ago, Diaz commented that the joys of motherhood may not be for her, saying, “It’s so much work to have children. To have lives besides your own that you are responsible for--I didn’t take that on.” That certainly seems to have changed!
Diaz and her husband have only grown stronger since raising a child together, with Cameron gushing about Benji, “He’s so good. He’s such an amazing father. I’m so lucky he’s my baby’s father.” To everything there is a season, and it seems like Diaz has fully stepped into her new role as a mother in replacement of the Hollywood life she once lived.
