Carrie Underwood is American Idol’s latest leading lady, and though she’s been bringing her unique style to the show, her latest nostalgic look had fans really swooning.

The country singer recently wowed her fans and viewers after she dressed up like Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast for the singing show’s Disney-themed episode. Though she previously impressed fans with a full-blown Star Wars ensemble, she really won them over with her princess gown, which prompted a lot of praise on social media. Now, people might be expecting her to channel some princess energy in the future. Read more about her Disney-inspired look below.

Carrie Underwood Dresses As Princess Belle For ‘American Idol’s’ Disney Night

The iconic singing competition show has been pulling out some fun themed nights and episodes over the course of the current season. However, this week’s special episode might just be a new fan-favorite and take the cake as a highlight of the year.

This Monday, the show hosted a Disney-themed episode, where the contestants and judges alike channeled some childlike and whimsical energy. Contestants sang songs from some of the brand’s most famous movies, and the “Before He Cheats” singer reciprocated with an elaborate costume, showing up her co-workers Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. For the evening, Carrie decided to dress as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, one of the most recognized Disney princesses out there.

She stepped out in a recreation of the famous princess’s large yellow ballgown with a ruffled skirt and off-shoulder sleeves. Completed with little embellishments throughout the bottom of the ballgown, Carrie also wore a Belle-inspired hairdo with a half-up-half-down style, wearing half her blonde locks in a bun and the others down and wavy. Polishing off her look with some yellow and silver jewelry, the vocalist was certainly a standout during the Disney episode.

Fans React To Carrie’s Princess Costume On Social Media

After the episode aired, and the Grammy award-winner shared some high-quality photos and videos of her costume on social media, her fans began to lose it. On platforms like Instagram, fans couldn’t get over how great they thought Carrie looked in the princess attire, and gushed over her ensemble in the comments section.

“My daughter literally gasped when you walked out,” commented a fan. “A true princess.”

“A real-life princess,” echoed another. “So pretty!”

One fan wrote that Carrie looked “unreal” as Belle, with another adding that she was “absolutely stunning.”

“You look like a decoration on top of a cake!” joked a fan.

“You can pull off anything,” added another. “Gorgeous.”

We’ll be curious to see what other outfits the mom-of-two has in store for the rest of the singing competition season, but for now, fans might not be able to get over this Disney costume, already writing that it’s their “favorite” look of the year.
