It was a big night for Armani Privé on Sunday, February 27th, as not only did the Italian fashion house dress Lady Gaga for the 28th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, but it was also responsible for Cate Blanchett’s ensemble too! And as expected, we were absolutely blown away when she made her hotly-anticipated red carpet arrival!
Akin to the 35-year-old House of Gucci star, Blanchett also went down the old Hollywood screen siren look for the SAG Awards, although her look was on another level in terms of sexiness. (And that’s saying something because Gaga’s look was pretty bold and racy too!)

The 52-year-old two-time Oscar-winner’s Armani Privé black maxi dress may have been modest in length, but the Don’t Look Up actress left very little to the imagination on her top half, as the dress featured the most daring plunging front we have ever seen! The dress was slashed to Blanchett’s navel, and showed off her toned and beyond-enviable figure in the best way possible! But can someone please tell us how she still managed to maintain such class and elegance when wearing such a provocative dress?! We are in awe!
The Blue Jasmine star – who attended the awards as she was nominated in the ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture’ category for her role in Nightmare Alley – completed her show-stopping look with a gargantuan black diamond ring, and matching black drop earrings. She wore her hair in side-parted subtle old Hollywood pinup waves, and went bold as far as her eye makeup was concerned too, opting for a dramatic smoky eye and toning things down with a light pink lip. It’s all about balance after all, and we are all in agreement that the Where’d You Go, Bernadette actress looked absolutely spectacular on the red carpet! We can’t wait to see what else she wears this awards season!
