Catherine Zeta-Jones Makes An Appearance As Morticia Addams In 'Wednesday' Season 2

The Welsh actress has been known for her great looks for years, often taking on complex roles that show off her acting chops and beautiful face. Given that she's been in the industry for decades, her face was bound to change, but some people have pointed out over the years that she was likely using some kind of cosmetic treatments to keep up her appearance.

One of the latest projects she's taken on was a return to Wednesday, the popular spin-off series focusing on the famous character, Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, and all of her antics. As the show grew and a second season was announced, the Chicago actress returned to play the infamous gothic mother, Morticia Addams, who is known for her dramatic, dark makeup and spooky, black clothing.

On August 6th, Netflix released four episodes, which are part one of the new season, and fans have been all over it over the last week. However, they couldn't help but notice that something was up with Catherine, noting that either her makeup for the character had changed dramatically, or she had done something to her face.

Fans React To Catherine's 'Unrecognizable' Face In The New Season Of 'Wednesday'

Once the first few episodes of the second season were released, some fans of the 55-year-old and the gloomy series began to notice that she looked different from how she did during the first season, where she made brief appearances as Morticia. More specifically, they felt her face had changed, and began speculating that some plastic surgery or cosmetic treatments were going on in her life behind the scenes.

"She's had work done. I'm never one to make negative comments about plastic surgery, especially on women, but this was so extreme that it felt like I was watching a recast Morticia," wrote a fan of Wednesday on Reddit.

"Her eyes look unrecognizable," added another fan who suspected Catherine had a blepharoplasty. "Maybe [she also had] bucal fat removal."

"She doesn't even look like herself," commented a fan. "It is crazy distracting."

"I didn't even recognize it was her," added a user who believes the actress received fillers. "I thought they had recast. I don't know if it's so much the makeup itself or if she just has a whole new face."

While the Oscar-winner still has yet to confirm or deny her alleged use of plastic surgery or treatments, fans are definitely suspicious and hoping for an answer, as the star they know and love is becoming less familiar to them these days.
