Red carpet looks appear to go one of three ways: there’s the classic and refined approach, modern and sleek, or chic and sexy. While each are filled with fashion staple designs and worthy of praise, we want to talk about the last category – chic and sexy. In 2019, it seems like celebrities took this approach to heart in a whole new way. We saw more toned abs, legs, and (dare we say) backsides, this year than ever before. Between the VMAs and the Met Gala, we’re sure that these stars sure have some confidence to be rocking these designs on the famous red carpet.

At the 2019 VMAs (Video Music Awards), Halsey left very little to the imagination for the audience members. Halsey started the night in a different (yet still minimal) red, fiery dress (bralette combo) designed by Peter Dundas. Later on, Halsey changed into her blue sleek dress that showcased both her abs and toned legs. Her and the Hadid sisters can be seen all night dancing to hits from Lizzo and Camilla Cabello.

It looks like Peter Dundas is no stranger to creating shocking red-carpet designs for all occasions. For the 2019 Met Gala, he dressed Emily Ratajkowski in an almost naked get-up to reflect the theme Camp Notes. Headress and all, many believe Ratajkowski’s look was a node to Cher’s GOAT appearance way back in the day.

No wonder Shawn Mendez is calling Camila Cabello Senorita! At the 2019 VMAs, Cabello wore an amazing (yet sexy) white satin dress designed by Balmain. Some describe the dress as a tiny wedding dress, while others are opting for scandalous toga party – either way, we have to admit Cabello is slaying this look.

This Newlywed showed off her backside at the 2019 Met Gala. Classic and refined in the front, and party in the back, this pink dress designed by Alexander Wang. Everyone was singing Siscos’ ‘Thong Song” as she walked on by. The dress’ backing, is custom built to showcase a G-String like undergarment coming from the back hem.

Starting with one extremely sophisticated and modest look, Lady Gaga stripped down (four times) to eventually leave us with nothing at the 2019 Met Gala. As she was co-chairing the event, we knew she had to go out in a big way. Except, our perception of big way was not stripping down to panties and a bra.

Bella Hadid, is no stranger to sexy and minimal looks. Our modern day sexy supermodel, has fun with showcasing her extremely toned and bronzed body in anyway she can. This includes baring her entire midriff during the 2019 VMAs. Matching her sister, Gigi Hadid with neutral tones, the two took a different approach in style. Bella’s ensemble showcased both her legs and abdomen, while Gigi wore a corset top and pants.

While not from 2019, we had to call out Bella Hadid’s sexiest and most revealing red-carpet look of all time. Her 2016 Victoria Secret Fashion Show Red Carpet look was a completely sheer metallic dress (hello free-the-nipple) designed by Julien Macdonald.
