Céline Dion has had people all over the world looking out for her since her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis, but now, it looks like she’s getting back into the swing of things.

The iconic vocalist recently surprised her fans when she released an emotional video message on Instagram during her birthday, where she revealed that she was returning to the stage for a small residency of shows in Paris. It’ll be her first time performing in a series of her own concerts since diagnosis with the rare disease, and her fanbase could not be more thrilled. Read more about her announcement below.

Céline Dion Surprises Fans With An Announcement Video On Instagram

Over the last few years, one of the most iconic belting vocalists of her generation, Céline Dion, has had her fans and other people around the world concerned for her.

After revealing she was diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder, Stiff Person Syndrome, the autoimmune condition that can cause painful muscle stiffness and spasms, the vocalist has been opening up about how much it’s impacted her life and singing career. She documented a lot of it in her documentary, I Am: Céline Dion, which included an alarming scene of her experiencing a full-body spasm.

Now, following some rest, rehabilitation, and an astonishing comeback performance during the 2024 Paris Olympics, yesterday, on her birthday, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer made an “important” announcement in an Instagram video.

“I wanted to let you know that I’m doing great, managing my health,” she said. “I’m feeling good, I’m singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing, obviously, I love it so much. But I have to tell you something very important. I’ve missed you so much, and that brings me back to my birthday, actually.”

“So, this year, I’m getting the best gift of my life: I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris beginning in September this year,” she continued.

Fans React To Céline's Surprise Concert Announcement On Instagram

In the video, the mom-of-three released her official announcement that for the first time since her diagnosis, she'd be performing a series of shows at the Paris La Défense Arena in Paris, France, from September 17 to October 14 of this year.

This was not only a treat because it proved to her fanbase that she was feeling a lot better and ready to get back to work, but also because she had to cancel the remaining shows of her Courage World Tour in May 2023 due to her symptoms.

In the comments section of her Instagram post, fans shared their excitement and positive messages for the award-winning star.

"Céline doesn't just come back, she rises again," commented a follower. "And anyone who's there will truly understand what unforgettable means."

"We love you, Céline!" wrote another. "Can't wait to see you shine on stage."

One excited fan wrote, "Can't believe it's actually happening!" as another added, "Our girl is back!"
