Despite axing side salads from its menu, only to add them back again due to negative customer reactions, Chick-fil-A is not backing down from launching new arrivals. With the spring solstice behind us, warmer temperatures are headed our way, and patio season is upon us—which means quenching our thirst with summer cocktails and refreshing lemonades.

After a 5-year hiatus, Chick-fil-A has brought back their Watermelon Mint Lemonade, a drink first released in the spring of 2017. In addition to bringing back this well-loved drink, Chick-fil-A has also dropped three new lemonade flavors: Watermelon Mint Sunjoy, Watermelon Mint Frosted Lemonade (it contains ice cream!), and Watermelon Mint Iced Tea. Here’s the latest on the four new sweet drinks:

Chick-fil-A Drops Four Lemonades Just In Time For Spring

While similar in taste and appearance, each of Chick-fil-A's new drinks takes the taste of the fan-favorite watermelon mint flavors and spins it just slightly. Whether you enjoy tart, sweet, or a milder iced tea, there seems to be a rendition for everyone to enjoy:

  • Watermelon Mint Sunjoy: Chick-fil-A calls this "equal parts tart and sweet." The drink combines Chick-fil-A Lemonade and Sweetened Iced Tea with a dash of watermelon and mint flavoring to create a twist on a classic iced tea.
  • Watermelon Mint Lemonade: This revived drink adds mint and watermelon flavoring to Chick-fil-A Lemonade, which the chain claims only contains three ingredients: "real lemon juice (not from concentrate), cane sugar and water."
  • Frosted Watermelon Mint Lemonade: Looking for something both "sippable and scoopable," as the chain puts it? Just like we love Wendy's Frosties and McDonald's Shakes for this invention, Chick-fil-A has created its own take on the concept with this half-ice cream half lemonade drink. The chain combines Watermelon Mint Lemonade with its Icedream dessert. Sounds delicious, but dangerous!
  • Watermelon Mint Iced Tea: For this beverage, Chick-fil-A takes brewed Iced Tea and adds watermelon and mint flavors. Since this drink is milder in sweetness, guests can opt to add real cane sugar to sweeten the drink. Though if that's the case, you may want to just order one of the other options above!

"Seasonal variations of our signature beverages continue to gain popularity with our customers," said Leslie Neslage, Director of Menu and Packaging at Chick-fil-A. "Guests loved the Watermelon Mint Lemonade in 2017, so we are thrilled to bring it back to our menu and introduce new ways for guests to enjoy this flavor."

Chick-fil-A Watermelon Iced Teas Are Available Only For A Limited Time

If you're looking to quench your thirst with one of these sweet beverages, you can grab any of the drinks starting today, April 3. Chick-fil-A says these will be available in participating locations through the spring, but only while supplies last. With the way fans have been reacting to the new beverage, you're going to want to act fast.

In an announcement posted by @snackgator on Instagram, fans stormed the comments section to declare their feelings about the new beverages. "Freaking finally... it's their best concoction! So excited!" wrote one fan. Another replied, "I’M SO EXCITED! That watermelon, mint lemonade was low-key my obsession, so I can’t wait to get back into it."

Still, others took to the comments to exclaim their woes about losing departed menu items, like the coleslaw which left six years ago, and past tea drinks. "Wish they would bring their slaw back. Thanksgiving just hasn’t been the same since it was removed," said one commenter. Another replied, "They need to bring back the peach tea lemonade," to which someone else said, "No… I want cloudberry back." The chain released a White Peach Tea Lemonade in the summer of 2018, and last year they launched a Cloudberry Sunjoy, which dearly departed at the end of last spring.

It's not clear how long the watermelon mint lemonades and teas will stick around, but here's to hoping they are as good as past releases.
