Chipotle has been under fire recently for charging hefty amounts for small portions, but luckily, a TikTok creator shared a video on how to get a filling meal at the popular restaurant for less than $10.
A TikTok content creator named Sophia shared her affordable Chipotle meal hack that promises a filling portion size without having to succumb to the restaurant’s intense prices. A TikTok User Shares Her 'Affordable' Chipotle Menu Hack For A Filling Meal
Over the last year, the famous Mexican fast-food chain Chipotle has angered its customers after introducing price hikes and enforcing strict policies on serving sizes.
Fans started noticing that their burritos felt lighter and their bowls were smaller, yet they were seemingly getting charged more, causing some of them to boycott the establishment and get their Mexican food fix elsewhere. While things may not have gotten better at Chipotle yet, especially with today's rising food costs, it's a good idea to find a deal wherever you can, and a TikTok user has done just that.
Sophia (@stpeteprincess) is a TikTok creator who went viral when she shared her "$6 Chipotle dinner life hack" on her page. In her video, Sophia can be seen enjoying a tray of delicious-looking food, and in her caption, she shares with her viewers what it is.
"The kids meal with a side tortilla," she wrote. "The total was $6.70. Very filling and cheap!"
After ordering, Sophia dives into her kid's meal, which looks like it includes almost the same amount of fillings as a regular burrito, and enjoys it with a drink and a side of chips.
TikTok Users React To Sophia's Cheap Chipotle Meal Hack
As it turns out, Chipotle is one of those restaurants where you can get plenty of food in a kid's meal, and you end up getting a better deal than you would if you ordered a fully loaded burrito or burrito bowl. In her video, it looks like Sophia ordered a 'kid's build your own' meal.
According to Chipotle's website, this kid's meal comes with "your choice of meat, guacamole or queso, and two toppings to go with a pair of crispy corn or soft flour Tortillas." The meal also includes a side order of kid's chips, a piece of fruit, and a drink.
In her video, it looks like Sophia chose some kind of meat, white rice, cheese, and sour cream to go in her kid's meal. After adding some hot sauce, she uses her extra tortilla to create her own burrito. With her chips and drink, the TikTok creator enjoyed a full meal for under $10, and her viewers thought she had a great idea.
"It's the perfect portion size," commented a viewer.
"I always get the kid's meal, [but] never thought of a side tortilla," wrote another. "Brilliant!"
"I love their kid's meal," added a TikTok user. "Perfect size, perfect price."
Other TikTok users wrote in the comment section that they've been using the Chipotle kid's menu for years, as it provides a "perfect" serving of food and can help you control how much you spend. At the restaurant, customers can also get a quesadilla-based kid's meal if they want to try something different.
