Chipotle announced the return of this customer favorite on Twitter, and we could not be more excited.
When they first announced its comeback, the chain made sure to (literally) reward its Chipotle Rewards members first.
For two days, carne asada was only available as a perk to those members, but two days later, everyone was able to start enjoying the new steak option by ordering online.
Chipotle’s chief marketing officer Chris Brandt explained the process for bringing back this menu item: "To bring back carne asada to our menu, we underwent an extensive vetting process to find more suppliers that meet our stringent Food with Integrity standards."
For fans of the steak, it's definitely worth it.
Brandt continued, "Our fans love our carne asada because they can taste the care and culinary expertise that goes into this recipe from farm to bowl."
When carne asada was first introduced to the menu last year, the company said it was the "fastest-selling new protein launch in history."
Despite its popularity, it is only available for a limited time. So if you want to try it out for yourself, make sure to head to Chipotle ASAP.
