Chrissy Teigen Reveals She Had A Hairline-Lowering Procedure On Her Instagram Story
Last month, the mom-of-four unexpectedly shared a picture of herself with her head wrapped in bandages. While she had a smile on her face, some fans showed concern, as she didn't initially provide context.
However, when she did on May 23rd, she wasn't met with the kindest reactions.
That day, Chrissy shared an up-close photo of some stitches on her forehead in her Instagram story and wrote a candid caption about what happened.
"Hi friends! [A] lot of you have been wondering about my hospital pic which is very understandable as I gave no explanation lol. I had a hairline lowering procedure," she shared.
"Lost a lot in the front from babies, and it's just very thin up there," she explained of her hair. "When you see it on a carpet, it's ALWAYS extensions."
The cookbook author may have expected to be met with words of praise, as not many celebrities take the time to not only admit they've had some kind of cosmetic procedure but also why they did it. Despite her honesty, people on the internet ended up being upset with her.
The Internet Slams Chrissy Following Her Post
After media outlets reposted the Sports Illustrated star's Instagram story, internet users had much to say about how they felt regarding the procedure and her use of cosmetic treatments. Many criticized her for getting more work done after she opened up about it in the past, and others said she was setting a bad example for young women on social media.
"How vain!" wrote an Instagram user.
"[A] sad example for women," commented another. 'These people are only teaching us how to hate ourselves."
"Insecure about the oddest things," a user wrote.
"This could've been kept private," noted another.
One Instagram user wrote they felt Chrissy was "full of herself," while another judged her for allegedly continuing to "mess with her face."
It seems that while many people want celebrities to be more honest and vulnerable about the elective surgeries or treatments they choose to get, the media personality's post was seemingly a little too much for internet users who believe she's getting unnecessary procedures that she shouldn't be flaunting.
