A brand new frozen chicken product has hit Costco shelves, specifically the Crazy Cuizine Mandarin Orange Chicken. Costco shoppers are loving the new food item, as seen on Instagram. Each 66 oz box features frozen chunks of “battered chicken breast with rib meat & mandarin orange sauce,” according to the retailer’s website.

Whether you need to whip up dinner fast or just want to quickly add flavorful chicken to your meal, each $17.99 box of this new Costco addition is “fully cooked, family size” and ready to “heat and serve.”

On Instagram, the popular Costco-themed account @costcofoodreviews recently uploaded photos of the new item, and fans began praising it in the post’s comment section last month. Some shoppers even deemed Costco’s new orange chicken to be “better” than the popular Trader Joe’s version.

Costco Fans Praise New Crazy Cuizine Mandarin Orange Chicken

After the post creator asked followers for their thoughts on Costco’s new product and how it compares to the Trader Joe’s one, someone commented: “it’s a lot better than the TJs version!” Another agreed, writing: “This one is so much better than TJ’s version. I think that it tastes better the next day as well.”

One other Costco fan chimed in: “this one is DEFINITELY better than TJs but this one has gmos and tj doesn’t so you gotta pick the battle!” One Trader Joe’s fan added a thought: “I actually prefer the TJs version, but both are good! The Costco one had nice big chunks of chicken and bigger serving than TJs I think! So tasty with the cauliflower rice stir fry, which I always buy from Costco!”

How Does It Compare To Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken?

Some customers seemed to like both Costco’s new orange chicken and Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken (with the latter being $4.99 for a 22 oz bag). “Both are good,” another commenter noted. “I think it’s a matter of preference and cost.”

They continued: “I agree that Costco’s version has more chicken and pieces are larger. The batters seem to differ a bit and same with the sauce. I prefer the Costco version for meat content. I also like that the Costco one comes with 2 bags of chicken and 2 bags of sauce. I don’t usually use the entire bag of sauce because I prefer it less wet and less sweet. Although I agree that it’s not overly sweet.”

Overall, these comments make us want to try both iterations for ourselves and see what we think!
