Dakota Johnson is opening up about a traumatic experience she had on the set of Our Friend, her new movie. During an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 31-year-old actress explained that she actually had a panic attack while filming a difficult scene for her latest drama.
Johnson explained that her character in the film sings on stage at one point, which is something that the actress has never done before. Retelling her experience, the Fifty Shades actress recalled that the singing scene was “so scary” for her.
She told Fallon, "Singing in front of people is actually so terrifying for me." In fact, the award-winning actress actually experienced what she calls "stage fright."
Johnson explained, "That was so scary. I actually have a little bit of stage fright."
The 31-year-old continued, "They hit playback of my vocal recording and called action. It was like I had a panic attack that manifested in all the ways that it does, that it can."
"I just took off running, running around this theater, around backstage and I was running around and I just started laughing hysterically," she recalled. "Everyone on the crew was like, 'What is she doing?' Running around, laughing, and then stopped moving and just started crying."
She added, "I got so scared. It was like extreme flight mode."
Luckily, it sounds like Johnson feels better now. Plus, this was not the only bombshell Johnson dropped during their interview. She also admitted that one of her most famous quotes might not be the exact truth.
Back in March, Johnson told Architectural Digest about her love of limes. "I love limes," she said. "I love them. They're great. I love them so much, and I like to present them like this in my house."
Fans fell in love with the quote (and Dakota's perfectly orchestrated home), but there is a little more mystery to it than you'd think.
In fact, while speaking to Fallon, Johnson admitted that she might even be allergic to her favorite decoration.
When he asked, "What do you do with all those limes?"
Johnson responded, "I actually didn't even know that they were in there." Plus, apparently they make her tongue itch.
