If you thought the early 2000s were long gone—think again. It seems that Y2K style is here to stay—with celebs like Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa leading the charge of throwback fashion. From belly chains to crop tops—the trends that some might wish stayed in the past have made their way to 2021. But when we saw the dangerously low V-pants becoming a fall trend, we had to do a double take!
Just like the thong trend left us speechless, this daring trend is equally risqué. If you’re a high-waisted pants lover, we’re sorry to be the bearers of bad news: low rise—VERY low rise—pants are back. So what are V-pants? Well, they’re the lowest cut pants out there, with a waistband that dips low in a ‘V’ shape.

The ‘V’ trend isn’t limited to just pants—Kim Kardashian has even incorporated the trend into some of her SKIMS pieces. The 40-year-old beauty modeled a pair of grey SKIMS biker shorts that featured the very low-cut ‘V’ waistband.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see Kim wearing a pair of full-fledged V-pants, but this biker short version is a great way to dip your toe in the trend without feeling to exposed. Although, Kim certainly isn’t afraid to show off a lot of skin—or roast her family on SNL.
Next up: Dua Lipa. We can always look to the 26-year-old trendsetter to lead the way when it comes to the latest, greatest, and sexiest looks. Dua wore the V-pants trend back on September 15th, sharing this all-black look with her 73.4m followers.
Her post, captioned “4 the thrill” incorporated her signature bralette and blazer combo with the V-cut pants trend. If anyone could pull of this trend, it’s Dua Lipa. And she’s making us want to try it for ourselves ASAP.
