Alec Baldwin’s younger brother Daniel Baldwin has just made a sensational claim that the 63-year-old actor has been made a scapegoat for the fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins because of his political views, which he isn’t usually shy of speaking about in public.
Speaking on The Domenick Nati Show on Monday, November 15th, the 61-year-old actor insisted that, “Alec has no blame in all of this,” in reference to the fatal Rust shooting in New Mexico, and “Alec is being attacked because of what, because of his political views.” He added: “You know Alec’s got the name though doesn’t he, so let’s go ahead and take Alec for his political views and the many, many wonderful things he’s done for different charities and people and his wife and let’s see if we can’t sensationalize this and go after Alec.”

"This is what he faces because he's opinionated and he's strong-headed and he has really staunch views on certain things and those people who don't like him will take advantage of him and persecute him and his wife. He's a target," the Hawaii Five-0 actor continued. "But let them run with it, because six months from now, everyone’s gonna realize – people are gonna go to jail or they’re going to be sued or whatever, and it won’t be him."
After reiterating that the 63-year-old 30 Rock actor was blameless, Daniel went on to say that the only person at fault for the fatal shooting is the armorer. "The armorer is responsible for the weapons. The actor is an idiot. The protocol exonerates Alec of any responsibility at all," he continued. "The first AD should have witnessed an empty weapon being handed to him or fired the gun himself. I don't know what caused him to announce 'cold weapon' on set. That announcement alone exonerates Alec of any wrongdoing or any responsibility. The initial buck stops with the armorer."
