For the most part, Demi Moore kept her daughters away from the public eye when they were growing up, and according to her youngest, Tallulah Willis, it was definitely on purpose.
In a recent interview, the 26-year-old explained how her mom was always “very protective” of their family and emphasized privacy as a way to keep her kids from the dangers of too much publicity.

Tallulah opened up about her mom during an Instagram Live interview with Story + Rain.
"My mom brought us up to be very private ... to be very protective of our family," she explained. "And I kind of interpreted that and swung the pendulum the other way and felt like that was very restrictive."
Although Demi's daughter knows that her mom only had the best of intentions, she still felt like she wanted to take a more open, direct approach when it came to her own relationship with the public.
She added, "I know that the place she was coming from was really loving and caring and positive but I always felt like, "Well, I wanna be transparent.'"
Despite their somewhat conflicting feelings on privacy, Tallulah and her mother are also a lot alike.
At 26, the designer feels like she is "becoming [her] mother in the most complimentary way," acknowledging that Moore is someone she can "really draw from."
Tallulah explained, "She’s even, I think, at this point in her life now still exploring and coming into herself creatively which is so inspiring for me because I think you can get really hung up on 'I didn’t figure it out soon enough.'"
Her mother's example has eased some of Tallulah's stress when it comes to "figur[ing] out" her own "life path."
Even her style has been influenced by Demi: "... So much of it was probably my mom. It really was. She is constantly shifting and evolving her style, but is also a hoarder. She's kept every iteration of vibe that she's ever had."
