Discontinued grocery items can make for some of the greatest heartbreaks. Unfortunately, several fan-favorite foods have disappeared from the market this year, and may be gone for good. While brands often refresh their lineups to make room for new flavors or to keep up with changing consumer preferences, it doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier.
Here are four products that have more or less vanished from grocery stores. If you happen to see them, don’t hesitate to stock up!
1. Girl Scout "S’mores" and "Toast-Yay!" Cookies
According to CNN, the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) confirmed that two popular cookie varieties—S’mores and Toast-Yay!—have officially being retired after this year’s cookie season. These join Raspberry Rallies in the cookie graveyard, which caused an internet frenzy in 2023 when limited boxes resold for up to $30 each.
The S’mores cookies, introduced in 2017, and the French toast–inspired Toast-Yay!, launched in 2021, both had devoted followings. GSUSA didn’t specify why they’re being discontinued, but the organization regularly refreshes its lineup to make room for new flavors. Translation: grab an extra box or two if you can.

2. Jersey Milk Chocolate Bars
After more than a century on Canadian shelves, Jersey Milk chocolate bars have been discontinued by Mondelez Canada, the Toronto Sun reports. A spokesperson explained that the decision came after a portfolio review revealed most customers now prefer other milk chocolate options like Cadbury Dairy Milk.
The creamy, old-school bar was first created in 1924 by William Neilson Ltd. and later acquired by Mondelez International. While the end of production won’t cause job losses at the Toronto Cadbury factory, it does mean one less nostalgic treat for chocolate lovers.

3. Three Cheerios Flavors
Cereal lovers, brace yourselves: General Mills has confirmed that three Cheerios varieties are leaving the lineup. Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Oat Crunch, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, and Honey Nut Cheerios Minis have all been discontinued as of mid-2025.
The company is pivoting toward its growing Cheerios Protein line, with flavors like Cinnamon, Strawberry, and Cookies & Creme, a nod to the high-protein trend sweeping the food industry. Still, fans of the discontinued flavors are mourning their loss on social media.

4. Trader Joe's Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
In true Trader Joe’s fashion, a cult-favorite bakery item has come and gone. The Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins were briefly resurrected after a hiatus, only to be pulled from shelves once more in April 2025. Fans on Reddit didn’t take the news well, with one user admitting they’re “genuinely at a loss” after losing their go-to breakfast of five years.
<pTrader Joe’s hasn’t given an official reason for the discontinuation, but it’s likely tied to low sales performance. Given the brand’s history, though, never say never. These muffins could make another surprise comeback down the road.
