The US Homeland Security Secretary Reveals That Donald Trump Wants The Mexico Border Wall Painted Black In A New Interview

Donald Trump has always been known for his intense immigration policies and his sudden crackdown on detaining and deporting immigrants who came to the United States illegally. During his first presidential campaign, he famously made a promise to American voters that he would "build a wall" along the border of Mexico and the United States to prevent more people from different countries from officially entering without going through customs.

Construction on the wall began during his first administration after receiving billions of dollars in funding, and it's been an ongoing project over the years. However, it turns out that the 79-year-old has new plans for it, believing it's going to make it even stronger against people from coming into the country illegally.

In a new interview with members of the press, US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed that the president requested the wall structures to be "painted black."

"[He] understands that in the hot temperatures down here, when something is painted black, it gets even warmer, and it will make it even harder for people to climb," she told members of the press in New Mexico.

The Internet Reacts To Trump's Newest Border Wall Plans On Social Media

Once the quotes from Noem were released on social media, the internet began buzzing over them, with numerous people finding the idea of making the already large structure black inhumane, and leaving comments against Trump all over social media. Instagram users reacted to the news by slamming the president in the comments section.

"I'm so glad that we closed the Department of Education, so we have enough money to paint a fence black," wrote one Instagram user.

"This level of cruelty will be remembered for generations," added another.

One Instagram user wrote that the new construction idea for the border wall meant was an example of "more American taxpayer money wasted."

"Pretty sure everyone wants to run in the opposite direction of the USA right now," joked a user.

"Who's gonna tell him that no one wants to come here anymore?" added another.

While we'll be curious to see if the plans to paint the wall black are followed through, for now, it looks like numerous American citizens do not think it's a very good idea.
