Donald Trump has made a reputation for himself as a president who enjoys pardoning and freeing other celebrities or notable figures who were sentenced to prison before or during his second term in office. Now, a source says he’s getting “serious” about pardoning one of the most trending and shocking convicted celebrities, and the internet is not happy about it.

An inside source from the Trump administration recently revealed that the president is “seriously considering” pardoning Sean “Diddy” Combs ahead of his sentencing after being convicted of some serious crimes earlier this year. The claim didn’t come long after Trump casually began discussing how he would like to pardon the music producer during a discussion with reporters in the Oval Office. Now, as Diddy awaits his sentence, the notion of pardoning him and getting him out of prison has become a lot more real, given his connections to the president. Once the insider’s claim was shared on social media outlets, the internet went into a frenzy. Read more about it below.

Donald Trump Commented On Diddy's Trial Earlier This Year

Last September, the world and music lovers were shaken when Diddy, one of the world's most famous rappers and music producers, was arrested and accused of trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and more, resulting in an elaborate and emotional trial where his victims and other figures testified against him. Earlier this month, he was found guilty of two counts of violating the Mann Act, and he's awaiting his sentencing.

The music producer is due to be sentenced in early October, and some legal experts believe he could be sent to prison for up to 20 years, with 10 years for each charge. Many people were expecting him to get more, especially after hearing the horrors his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, mentioned when describing the abuse she suffered at his hands. However, everyone will have to wait and see what happens this fall. It seems that there is, however, one powerful figure on his side - President Donald Trump.

Earlier this year, in May, the politician spoke out about Diddy's arrest and trial, and stated that while he wasn't following the case closely, he'd "certainly" look at the "facts" and consider pardoning him if need be. He also stated that they were friends, mentioning that the rapper "really" liked him years ago. These comments were made to the press not long after the president pardoned his supporters and donors, reality stars, Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were in prison for fraud and tax evasion.

An Inside Source Claims President Trump Is 'Seriously Considering' Pardoning Diddy

Now that the music producer is officially awaiting his sentencing, an inside source from the Trump administration recently spilled that the conversation surrounding his pardon by the infamous president is getting more serious.

The source told Deadline that Diddy's presidential pardon from prison, for however many years that may be, is being "seriously considered" by Trump, and that members of the rapper's team have been in talks with members of his administration about making it happen.

Once this report was released and posted on social media, the internet began buzzing, as many couldn't get over that the 79-year-old would make room in his list of pardons for the music maker, given how intense the accusations made against him were. However, there were also many who were not so surprised. On Instagram, numerous users weighed in on the claim, and they were not pleased.

One user wrote that the president and musician were "birds of a feather," while another stated he was "the biggest joke."

"Making America great again, one felon at a time," commented another.

"Are we surprised?" asked one user, as another wrote, "He is just as bad as Diddy."

"He better not pardon him," commented a user. "He's an awful human being."

It will likely be a while before we figure out if the president is serious about pardoning the disgraced rapper, and a lot of it will have to do with how his sentencing hearing goes in October. Still, it seems that large numbers of Americans would not be happy with the pardoning if that day were to come.
