New Report Claims Gisele Bündchen's Family Thinks She Shouldn't Have Married 'Penniless' Joaquim Valente
All eyes have been on the Brazilian supermodel after she started fresh following her divorce from star athlete Tom Brady, which was finalized in 2022 after 13 years of marriage. She began a relationship with Joaquim Valente, a well-known celebrity jiu-jitsu instructor based out of Miami who is also from Brazil. The pair welcomed a baby boy together last February and decided to tie the knot last month.
Since giving birth to her third child, Gisele has been seen out and about with her new husband, looking very happy with him, flashing smiles for the paparazzi, and giving fans updates on her happy home life. Although things have seemingly been going very well, a new report has revealed that her family did not initially approve of her marriage to the instructor.
According to an insider who spoke to Page Six, "Her family warned her that marrying a penniless guy when she is worth millions is a mistake."
Source Claims Gisele & Joaquim's Prenup Contains 'Loopholes'
The divorce between Gisele and the NFL player didn't drag on for long; however, there were reports that their relationship was unstable for a while, with the Victoria's Secret legend allegedly struggling with her ex's demanding football schedule. Following their divorce, the two share custody of their two children, Benjamin and Vivian, and Gisele is now reportedly worth around $400M.
Because of her net worth and divorce settlement, her family is reportedly concerned that if anything were to happen between her and Joaquim, she might lose some of her finances, which is one of the main reasons they allegedly did not want them to get married.
"Her family told her to just live with him," the source told the above publication. "But between Valente's pressure and her being a traditionalist, she felt that since they had a child, they might as well marry."
The source continued and added that while there is a prenuptial agreement between the newlyweds, some of those close to her remain skeptical and concerned.
"There is a prenup, but with some loopholes that mean if they divorce, there will be a financial settlement for him," they added.
