Donald Trump Says Rep. Ilhan Omar ‘Had Herself Sprayed’

Congresswoman Omar was in the middle of her speech when a man from the front row jumped up and ran towards her, spraying her shirt with an unknown substance. According to witnesses at the town hall, the substance was strong-smelling. The police department quickly apprehended the suspect, later identified as 55-year-old Anthony Kazmierczak, and he was booked into jail on suspicion of third-degree assault, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

In response to the attack, Donald Trump suggested that Omar “probably had herself sprayed.” Speaking to ABC News’ Rachel Scott, the president admitted he hasn’t seen the video of the attack. “I don’t think about her. I think she’s a fraud,” he said. “She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her.”

Congresswoman Omar took to C, formerly Twitter, to respond to Trump’s claims: “Right on cue, you’re deflecting from your failures with lies and conspiracy theories about me.”
