Dua Lipa just made her runway debut – at Versace, no less!
The 26-year-old singer and trend-setter walked her first ever runway at the weekend, as she strutted her stuff for the Versace Ready-To-Wear Spring 2022 show as part of Milan Fashion Week.
The Levitating singer has a long-standing relationship with Versace, as some of her boldest and most memorable red carpet looks – including the bedazzled sheer gown she wore to the 2021 Grammys – have been courtesy of the Italian fashion house. She has also appeared in its fall 2021 advertising campaign, so naturally walking the runway seems like the next step.

Versace shows tend to be some of the most star-studded in the entire fashion month calendar – both in terms of those walking the runway and those watching the show in the FROW – but Lipa didn’t seem to show a hint of nervousness or anxiety as she boldly and confidently dominated the catwalk alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. Veteran catwalk queens such as Gigi Hadid (who Lipa is particularly close to, as she has been dating her younger brother Anwar Hadid for over two years) Emily Ratajkowski, Naomi Campbell, and Stella Maxwell took a back seat, as the New Rules singer took center stage and opened the show to the soundtrack of her very own Future Nostalgia album, wearing a seductive slashed black blazer adorned with gold safety pin hardware.
And Versace entrusted Lipa with the task of closing the show too. The singer closed the show with a bang as she sashayed in a metallic pink mesh tank top and midi skirt set, complete with matching pink shoes and jewelry, and contrasting green eyeshadow. Her enviable sleek black locks were tumbling down over her shoulders for both catwalk appearances.
The singer shared some of her favorite catwalk moments to her Instagram account. As a caption to a post filled with pictures and videos from her Versace catwalk debut, Lipa said it was “such an honour to open and close the @versace show tonight in Milan.”

The caption continued: “A surreal moment I’ll never EVER forget!! @donatella_versace you know i’ll be your Versace girl forever #versaceSS22- thank you to the whole team who made tonight possible I am in awe of you and your teams @kjeldgaard1 @patmcgrathreal @guidopalau”
Lipa also spoke about what a “dream” walking in the Versace show was in a statement shared by People. “It has been such an incredible experience to continue my journey with my Versace family from starring in a campaign to now opening the SS22 show!” she said. “Donatella, it’s been a dream to walk in your beautiful show.”
