If there’s been a Dunkin’ Pink Velvet Macchiato-shaped hole in your heart over the last few years, we have good news: It’s back! The Pink Velvet Macchiato is just one of many seasonal offerings you can find at Dunkin’ this winter.

That’s right. This beloved limited time beverage has made its return to the Dunkin’ menu after years of waiting, and fans are so excited. So excited, in fact, that they inspired me to try it for myself. Find all the details—including my review—below.

Pink Velvet Macchiato returns to Dunkin'

This Pink Velvet Macchiato made its debut in January 2020, but we haven't seen it on the menu since. Now, after years of longing, it's finally making its long-awaited comeback at Dunkin'. Even after so much time, Dunkin' die-hards never stopped hoping for its return. Just last March, one person tweeted: "life will never be the same without dunkin’s pink velvet macchiato." But we no longer have to live in a world without this fan-favorite drink! Hallelujah!

If you haven't yet had the pleasure of tasting this pink beverage yet, you're in for a treat. It features espresso, red velvet cake flavor, and even a dash of cream cheese frosting flavor. Yum! You can get it hot or iced through late February. It's the perfect Valentine's Day drink.

The excitement is palpable and the reviews are great.

"THEY BROUGHT BACK THE PINK VELVET MACCHIATO??,!,?,?;?" one fan tweeted.

"Pink velvet macchiato at Dunkin goes hard," another person confirmed.

Dunkin' Pink Velvet Macchiato Review

Since I’m a relatively new Dunkin’ loyalist (moving to the East Coast changed me), I didn’t try the Pink Velvet Macchiato the first time around. So after I saw all the hype online about it, I practically ran to my local Dunkin’ to taste it for myself. The verdict? It’s worth all the rave reviews.

First off, it really is pleasing to look at. The layers of pink, white, and brown are undeniably Instagram-worthy. When I got my drink, all of the pink syrup was at the bottom of the cup, so it did need a good mixing before I tasted it (but not before I snapped a photo).

Beyond the aesthetics, the Pink Velvet Macchiato tastes exactly like it sounds: a dessert. While sipping on it, I wondered out loud to my friend how they could possibly make a drink taste so much like cake. Has science gone too far? Regardless, it’s delicious. It combines flavors of red velvet cake and tasty cream cheese frosting. The rich espresso flavor brings it all together.

I should make it clear, though, that this drink is not for people who aren’t a fan of sweet beverages. That probably goes without saying, but consider yourself warned: it’s seriously sweet. Although I typically drink my coffee black every morning (the healthiest way, according to experts!), I like to treat myself to a sweet latte–or in this case, macchiato–every now and then. The Pink Velvet Macchiato did not disappoint when it came to appeasing my sweet tooth. If that’s not what you’re looking for, stick with the basics–or opt for less of the Pink Velvet swirl.

Other New Dunkin' Items

But the new winter goodies at Dunkin' don't stop with this tasty drink. The Pancake Wake-Up Wrap is also returning, alongside the Frosty Red Velvet Specialty Donut and Sweet Black Pepper Snackin’ Bacon + Breakfast Sandwich. Plus, there's a brand-new White Hazelnut Bark Coffee to try. This drink offers up flavors of toasted hazelnut and creamy white chocolate, hot or iced. Our mouths are watering! You can get it all through February.

What do you think? Are you heading to Dunkin' ASAP, or will you stick with your go-to Starbucks order? Let us know in the comments!
