There are so many supplements on the market for so many different ailments that it can be hard to figure out exactly what you need. If you’re dealing with brain fog, fatigue, and more, you may want to start taking quercetin supplements. Quercetin is a pigment found in many plants and is well known in the health and wellness community for its anti-inflammatory properties.

We spoke with health experts, including Dr. Yelena Gidenko with Brain Health Matters and Dr. Jessica Peatross, an Internal Medicine doctor, about the benefits of taking around 500 milligrams of quercetin routinely and the pleasant effects you could start to feel after taking it consistently for two weeks. Read more about what they had to say below.

Quercetin Can Boost Your Energy Levels And Reduce Brain Fog

Dr. Gidenko says that when you start taking quercetin daily, you may start to notice that your brain fog or mental fatigue is reduced, which is a huge bonus for anyone who frequently deals with burnout from work or other issues.

"Within the first two weeks, quercetin begins to reduce neuroinflammation and oxidative stress, two of the biggest culprits behind brain fog, mental fatigue, and even mood instability," she explains.

"At a cellular level, it's already working to improve mitochondrial energy production and support the brain's natural repair processes. For many people, the early benefits are not dramatic but definitely real: a clearer head, more steady energy, and a bit more capacity to handle daily stress."

It's important to note that you will likely not feel an 'instant' boost when you start taking quecertin after two weeks, but as Dr. Gidenko states, it builds a "better foundation for your brain to perform."

Taking Quercetin Can Help Reduce Inflammation In Your Body After 2 Weeks

Dr. Peatross explains that because quercetin is a flavonoid, which is a natural compound found in plants, it can have an impact on the inflammation in your body.

"When you take it as a supplement, especially over two weeks, you're likely going to notice some subtle shifts in how your body handles inflammation and immune stress," she adds.

"Quercetin's a natural anti-inflammatory, so if your body's been quietly battling chronic inflammation (like from allergies, mild joint pain, or even high stress), you might start feeling a bit more balanced."

Dr. Peatross also notes that it's great for allergies, as it "acts like a natural antihistamine," which is good to know, given it's been an unprecedented year for allergy season. It's also beneficial for post-workout recovery, as it helps to neutralize your cells and "support mitochondrial function."

Both health experts want to stress that quercetin isn't a magic pill that will solve all of your problems within two weeks. Still, it is an "underrated" supplement that does a lot "behind the scenes" and is a great building block for long-term brain health, lack of inflammation, and higher levels of energy.
