During her chat with the publication, the mother of two opened up about her family's sacrifices when they moved to the US from Cuba and how her A-list husband, Ryan Gosling, has perfectly blended into her Cuban family!

"I felt the weight, in a positive sense, of parents who emigrated to the U.S., and almost immediately after, I was born. I wanted to do something that showed their sacrifices made sense," the children's book author said.
Eva shares two daughters with the Barbie actor, Esmeralda and Amada. The two started dating back in 2011 and are known for keeping their relationship very private. But she gave fans some insight as to what type of dad Gosling is at home with their kids.
"He's more Cuban than I am sometimes," she revealed. Mendes noted how Gosling has perfectly integrated into her Cuban family and even aligned himself with a similar parenting approach as hers: "I'm the typical Cuban mom who says, 'You're not having a sleepover because I don't know those people!' And you know who else is like that? The Cuban Ryan!"
