Celebrities have lately been reviving one of the edgiest trends of the early aughts: low-slung pants with exposed thongs.
The wild style made its way to the runway at Versace’s spring ’20 men’s show during Milan Fashion Week earlier this month. On a star-studded stage, it was Bella Hadid who stole the show, strutting her stuff in a sparkly pantsuit with a thong peeking through. Evening-wear has never looked so good!

Lais Ribeiro proved that the risqué style looks just as good off the runway. Last week, the Victoria’s Secret model wore a pair of sparkly VS undies that were too cute to hide underneath her bottoms—sooo she left them hanging out! The star paired her silver thong with baggy trackpants and an underboob-baring crop top for a night-out look that we totally want to replicate.
Meanwhile, Hailey Baldwin gave the trend a sporty-chic twist last month. The “Drop the Mic” co-host posed on Instagram in a tied-up Adidas shirt and track pants with her white panty on display. Husband Justin Bieber was a big fan of the look, commenting, “Hottest in the game no cap.” It seems the rest of Baldwin’s followers were just as into it, as her post racked up over 1.2 million likes.

While the exposed thong trend seems to have really taken off in the past two months, Jennifer Lopez may be responsible for bringing it back. JLo shot a music video in November wearing baggy gray pants with a matching thong hanging out—and she looked incredible!
