While you may hear about celebrity couples, love triangles, and even divorces at a constant rate, we have to admit that we think famous friendships are underrated. Amid all the PR relationships, cheating scandals, and too many Pete Davidson girlfriends to keep up with, seeing a pair of famous besties supporting each other truly warms our celebrity-obsessed hearts–especially when the friendships have lasted decades.
That’s why we’ve put together a list of some of the longest-lasting celebrity friendships out there. Whether these pairs met on set or have their famous parents to thank for the fact that they’ve known each other since childhood, one thing’s for sure: they’ve all supported each other through thick and thin as they’ve navigated their successful careers.

10 Famous Friendships
Here are a few of our favorite long-lasting famous friendships, from celebrities who grew up together to a rap duo that met at a party in the ‘80s:
1. Liv Tyler and Kate Hudson
Talk about a beautiful friendship! These two gorgeous women have been friends for 20 years, having grown up together in the limelight as the children of famous parents Stephen Tyler and Goldie Hawn. Does that make this a nepotism friendship? Maybe–but we love them anyway. The duo even starred in the 2000 film “Dr. T and the Women” together. In fact, Kate chose Liv to be her daughter’s godmother. Adorable!

2. Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett-Smith
Here’s another girl power-packed duo. Queen Latifah and Jada Smith have been friends for 30+ years and have starred in multiple movies together. The friends met at a Baltimore nightclub Queen Latifah was performing at back when they were both just teenagers. Now they’ve grown their careers together, starring alongside each other in “Set It Off” and “Girls Trip.” We can’t get enough of them together!
3. Meghan Markle and Serena Williams
What’s better than a famous friendship? A famous friendship that includes royalty! The princess Meghan Markle and tennis legend Serena Williams have been besties since 2010. Meghan frequently shows up at Serena’s matches to root her good friend on. And if you needed any more proof for just how close these two are, we should also point out that Serena co-hosted Meghan’s baby shower a few years back. Love it!
4. Jennifer Anniston and Courteney Cox
“Friends” isn’t just the name of the show they starred in together; these two legendary actresses are true BFFs. Jen and Courteney met back in 1994 while filming the first season of this cult-favorite series, and their friendship remains stronger than ever nearly three decades later. They’ve been through the good and the bad, from being each other's maids of honor to showing support through both of their divorces. Jennifer once described Courteney as “extremely fair, ridiculously loyal, and fiercely loving.” Heartwarming!

5. Regina King and Gabrielle Union
These two actresses have been by each other's side for years now, through thick and thin. In addition to flexing their creative skills together (Gabrielle starred in an episode of “Being Mary Jane” that Regina directed back in 2015!), they’ve also been through some serious stuff together; Regina once saved Gabrielle from drowning in a riptide while snorkeling. That’s a bond that can’t be broken!
6. Adam Levine and Jonah Hill
Here’s another pair that has their famous parents to thank for their lifelong friendship; Adam Levine and Jonah Hill’s fathers met back in middle school and stayed good friends, so these two grew up playing together. They remain friends to this day, supporting each other in their music and acting careers. Jonah even describes Adam as family. We love it!
7. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck
We can’t get enough of these childhood friendships; Matt Damon and Ben Affleck met over 40 years ago, when Matt was just 10 and Ben was 8. The two built their careers alongside each other. In fact, they wrote the classic film “Good Will Hunting” together, which won them both their first Oscars in 1997. What a beautiful friendship success story!
8. Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts
These Australian actresses go way back. In fact, Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts went to the same high school and worked in the same theater company back in the day! However, it wasn’t until they starred in “Flirting” together in 1991 that they reached their full bestie potential. Now, over 3 decades strong, they’re lifelong friends.
9. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler
It’s hard to think of a female friendship that’s funnier than this one. Tina Fey and Amy Poelher met while taking classes at Chicago improv theater ImprovOlympic back in 1993, and the rest, as they say, is history. Famously, the duo went on to join the cast of “Saturday Night Live,” and they’ve had flourishing careers ever since, collaborating regularly on their creative endeavors and constantly supporting each other along the way.
10. Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff
It isn’t just actors that find lasting friendships! Although you may know Will Smith mainly for his acting career, he formed a hip-hop group (aptly named DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince) with DJ Jazzy Jeff after the pair met at a party back in 1985. While they’ve mainly gone their separate ways creatively, these two are still good friends. That’s nearly 4 decades of friendship–all thanks to a chance meeting at a party!
