Ryan Gosling has been on the press circuit recently for his upcoming films The Fall Guy and Barbie—and fans think that he may have gotten fillers in preparation for the extensive media tour, noting, “He looks different.”

TikToker @thekylemarisa shared a “blind item” alleging that the 42-year-old actor received the facial augmentation to zhuzh up his look ahead of his press tour, but according to the blind item, the supposed fillers unfortunately “looked really bad up close.”

Is Ryan Trying To Live Up To The ‘Ken’ Fantasy?

Famously, Ryan will be playing Ken—as in, Mattel’s “Ken” doll—in the hotly-anticipated Barbie movie releasing this summer on July 21st, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie as the titular Barbie. Perhaps the Dead Man’s Bones singer is feeling the pressure to live up to the plastic perfection of Ken—or at least, that’s what some fans are theorizing on social media.

“I think the plastic look is what he was going for, method acting expert hehe,” joked one commenter on the TikTok video. “What in the Zac Efron is goin’ on?” asked another TikToker, referring to Efron’s recent change of look.

In the original video, @thekylemarisa implored, "Ryan, you are fine as-is—don't let the ageism get to you!" Many replies to the TikTok agreed with this statement, with one saying "Agreed! He's gorgeous, definitely does not need fillers!" Another responder added, "I think he's so handsome with no filler." One TikToker noted "He is still daddy, he still looks fine."

The images in the video were taken at CinemaCon late last month, when Ryan appeared with Barbie co-stars Margot Robbie and America Ferrera and director Greta Gerwig to promote the highly-anticipated film at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

Gosling Says: 'I Doubted My Ken-ergy'

The Barbie panel gave the CinemaCon crowd an advance look at the film, which is ostensibly about Barbie's world and its crossover into our "real" world—though not much is known about the feature's actual storyline. However, the film's look is already creating fashion and beauty trends, thanks to its viral trailer.

When teased about having to get into character as Ken, Barbie's famous male counterpart, Ryan admitted that he was uncertain whether he was the right actor to portray the iconic plastic doll. "Until this point, I knew Ken from [afar], I didn't know Ken from within, I doubted my Ken-ergy," confessed the former Oscar nominee.

Perhaps those doubts may have prompted him to get some cosmetic touch-ups prior to what is sure to be a fairly extensive press tour: "I have a feeling he is just going overboard for his role in Barbie, hahahahaha," wrote one fan on social media.

Hopefully, Ryan will hear the entreaties of fans going forward if he truly is feeling self-conscious about his age and/or his looks: "Don't mess with perfection, Ryan," summed up one TikTok comment. And with this, we have to agree!
