Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling wore Barbie-inspired outfits on the red carpet in support of Greta Gerwig’s much-anticipated Barbie at State of the Industry and Warner Brothers Pictures’ presentation during CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas. While Ryan, who portrays Ken in the movie, repped his director in a white tee with Greta’s name splashed across the front in the classic Barbie font, Margot dressed completely in character for the occasion. She posed on the red carpet in a pink gingham bra top and miniskirt by Prada which she paired with a pair of pink Christian Louboutin heels. The fantasy comedy, which stars Margot (as the quintessential plastic doll), Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, and Dua Lipa (who is performing an original song as a Barbie mermaid!), premieres on June 23.

Margot Robbie Wore A Pink And White Gingham Prada Set At CinemaCon To Premiere The ‘Barbie’ Movie
Margot and Ryan were the definition of Barbiecore at CinemaCon on Tuesday, April 25th. The co-stars stayed true to their on-screen characters and walked the red carpet in perfectly coordinating pink looks. Margot posed for pictures in an outfit that looked like it was straight out of the Mattel doll’s wardrobe.

She rocked a two-piece pink gingham Prada set, consisting of a cropped bra top (complete with scalloped black trim) and a high-waisted mini skirt. Margot arrived at the event in a matching overcoat but decided to forgo it for the red carpet. She paired the set with a pair of matching pink Christian Louboutin peep-toe heels and a gold Chanel anklet. She styled her Barbie blond hair in a sleek side part to show off her dreamy heart-shaped diamond drop earrings. Margot finished the look off with a rosy, thoroughly Barbie-worthy beauty look with a hot pink lip. This isn’t the first time Margot slayed a Barbiecore outfit. She donned a pink Chanel dress at the 2023 Golden Globes.

Margot walked the red carpet with her co-star Ryan (a.k.a. Ken), who also dressed the pink part. His outfit, however, came with a bit of camp. Ryan wore a Barbiecore pink Acne Studios bomber jacket over a white T-shirt that read, “From Director Greta Gerwig,” in the movie’s pink font. The actor paired his look with a pair of dark acid-wash denim jeans. Fans couldn’t get enough of Ryan’s hair. His hair was longer and darker than the platinum hue he had in the trailer for Barbie. But, the blonde frosted tips in his hair still looked perfectly in character for Ken.

While on stage, Margot described playing Barbie as a “huge and exciting opportunity—and a rare one,” while Ryan admitted to questioning his “Ken-ergy” when filming began. “I only knew Ken from afar. I didn’t know Ken from within, and if I’m being really honest I doubted my Ken-ergy,” the La La Land actor told the audience at the presentation. “I didn’t see it, but Margot and Greta, they conjured this out of me somehow.” Margot and Ryan star alongside celebrities like Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, Hari Nef, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Alexandra Shipp, and Dua Lipa, to name just a few. Barbie hits theaters on July 21, 2023.
