Fast food restaurants usually have a handful of solid menu items that are always reliable and tasty. However, some items tend to miss the mark, or aren’t that high in quality.
A few Reddit posts have gone viral after numerous fast food employees weighed in on some items from famous chains that they think you should “never” order. The chains range from Dunkin’ Donuts to Pizza Hut, and the reasoning stems from cleanliness issues to low-quality food. Read more about six fast food items fast food employees say you should “never” order below.
Wendy's Chili
Wendy's is famous for its homestyle chili, which was created as a way to use leftover hamburger meat. While the concept sounds charming and ecological, some Wendy's employees don't think it's as delicious as it sounds.
Several Wendy's employees on Reddit claimed that the chili was made from "dry," old hamburger patties that weren't worth selling and had lost their flavor.
"Unless you're okay with eating days-old beef, don't order their chili," wrote a former employee.

Subway Grilled Chicken Sandwiches
Grilled chicken always sounds like a tasty, healthy option at fast food restaurants, but Subway employees think their grilled chicken is worth skipping, and you should stick to ordering something else.
Former employees wrote that the grilled chicken was "boiled in the microwave," and that it's "really not that fresh."

Pizza Hut Chicken Wings
Just about every fast food pizza chain offers chicken wings, but that doesn't mean all of them are good. Several workers said that it was never a guarantee the wings would always come out "fresh," and one former employee even had a horror story about their deep fryer for the wings and other foods.
"They never would replace that oil we used, and it would be dark, dark brown for a couple of weeks," alleged an employee.
"My store only changed the oil about once every three or more weeks, despite all the numerous pieces of raw chicken and other fried foods cooking in it."

Dunkin' Donuts Blended Drinks
Cold, blended drinks from Dunkin' Donuts, like the Coolatta or the Frozen Chocolate, may be refreshing and tasty on a hot day. Still, numerous employees came forward to note that the machines they're made in are rarely cleaned and can cause cross-contamination risks.
"The old machine was never cleaned well enough," noted a former employee.
Another Dunkin' worker wrote that at their location, the "ice machine was absolutely disgusting."

McDonald's McRib
While this limited edition sandwich may not be on the menu right now, some employees advise McDonald's customers to stay away from it when it makes another comeback.
"The McRib is literally just spam in a rib-shaped mold," wrote an employee.
"I worked in McDonald's for two years," added another.
"The whole McRib craze that everyone seems to have is easily the most disgusting thing I've ever seen."

7-Eleven Hot Dogs
The convenience store chain is famous for its hot dogs, which are typically cheap, filling, and readily available. However, several current and former employees on Reddit warned against buying one of them, as you can never know whether or not it's been sitting out all day.
"Seriously, stay away from the hot dogs," commented one. "Can't look at hot dogs and 7/11 the same way."
"We only clean the 'grill' once a night," added another employee. "They have caked on grease and old food from way, way back."
While many of these comments could just be from several employees' personal experiences at their specific store or restaurant and may not apply to every location of these popular fast food chains, their stories and warnings are worth taking into consideration. Did any of these items surprise you?
