Many celebrities have been branded “out of touch” and “tone deaf” for the controversial things they have said over the years, including Ariana Grande and every member of the Kardashian family.
And Gayle King is the latest A-lister to receive this type of criticism, thanks to a video she shared with her Instagram followers at the start of the year! Keep reading to find out more…
Gayle King Complains About Having A Windowless Window Seat On United Airlines Flight
On January 5th, the 71-year-old CBS Mornings co-host shared a now-deleted video showing her business‑class "window seat" on a United Airlines flight from Maui, Hawaii, to New York, while pointing out that there wasn't actually a window beside her!
The editor-at-large for Oprah Daily appeared to be hoping for some sympathy from her followers after posting the video, but it should come as no surprise to learn that that's not what she got!
King says in the video: "I always like the window seat, and I know the L series is window seats, so I sit down, I go, 'oh great, okay, let's look out the window.' Oh, hm. There is no window." She concluded: "United and I have very different ideas about a window. What's a girl to do?"

Social Media Reactions
"Gayle you've been to space what more do you need to see mama," joked one social media user, in reference to her controversial and "obnoxious" Blue Origin space flight with Lauren Sánchez, Katy Perry and more, as a second called her "out of touch" for complaining.
"Imagine living a life where this is your biggest problem," quipped a third, as a fourth quoted Kourtney Kardashian's infamous line from Keeping Up with the Kardashians where Kim Kardashian cried after losing her diamond earring: "Gayle people are dying!" "How will she manage?" sarcastically asked a fifth.
"I have such deep disdain for the wealthy," wrote a sixth disgruntled fan, this time on a Reddit thread. "I guess all of Oprah's jets were being used on this day," joked a seventh, as an eighth observed: "The amount of time it took to pan over to the lack of window made me realize just how big her compartment is." "The horror," wrote a ninth, as a tenth joked: "Thoughts and prayers."

Fans Come To Gayle King's Defense And Slam United Airlines
Interestingly, there were more than a handful of fans who came to Gayle's defense, and called out United for its false advertising. "I support celebrities complaining about inconveniences that would infuriate me as well," wrote one Reddit user on the same thread.
"I get the 'read the room' comments, but y'all would be mad if you booked and expected a window seat and you didn't get a window!" exclaimed a second, as a third echoed: "She's right to be annoyed." They then suggested: "But maybe quietly and directly to the airline, not to us teeming masses who long for the possibility of maybe getting upgraded to business class, or economy plus, or selecting our seat, or flying at all."
"She paid for a window seat and was not provided that. Why turn on her for this particular issue when United is the problem?" asked a fourth, as a fifth plainly stated: "I'd be annoyed too if I paid for a window seat and there wasn't a single window in sight."
"As much as I dislike her, I would be mad too if I paid for a window seat and got no window," concurred a sixth. "I agree with her, but maybe read the room, and drop that video in your rich friends' group chat," suggested a seventh.
