Gwen Stefani, 53, may be living her best life with Blake Shelton, 47, who she married back in 2021, but the truly ageless former No Doubt singer recently made a heartbreaking confession about her “terrible” divorce from first husband Gavin Rossdale.
Gwen and Gavin, 57, were married between 2002 and 2016 – a lifetime in Hollywood, we must say! – and share three sons together – Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 9. The “Rich Girl” singer filed for divorce from the Bush frontman back in 2015 following rumors that he had allegedly cheated on her with their nanny, with their divorce becoming final the following year.
Gwen Stefani Reflects On 'Terrible' Divorce From Gavin Rossdale
Gwen reflected on that period of her life in a very candid new interview with People, which was published on September 27th, and said her "life fell apart" after the "terrible" divorce.
"Everybody pretty much knows that at one point my life fell apart," the Grammy winner recalled. "It was terrible, and there’s so many people out there that have gone through the same thing, when that happened, I had to literally start over again. It was a reset of my life."
Gwen Stefani Gushes About Blake Shelton And Tells 'People' Their Love Is An 'Amazing Gift'
Starting all over again was clearly a blessing for the "Hollaback Girl" singer, as she started dating her The Voice co-judge Blake Shelton – who was married to fellow country star Miranda Lambert, 39, from 2011 until their divorce in 2015 – in 2016. She candidly told People that the "God's Country" singer has "changed" her life, telling the pub that she "didn’t see [Shelton] coming," adding, "This was just a big old 'What?' It was an amazing gift to experience love like that for the first time."
"When I [started dating] Blake, that’s when I felt home, like: "Oh, this is where I’m supposed to be, with this guy.'" We're glad that Gwen got her happy ending, and think she and Blake are the definition of couple goals!
