Gwen Stefani is making waves with her latest kiss-off single, “Somebody Else’s,” from her highly anticipated new album, Bouquet. Many fans are thinking that the catchy new tune might be a jab at her ex, Gavin Rossdale. On the infectious guitar-driven new track, the No Doubt frontwoman, 55, notably sings: “I don’t know what a heart like mine was doin’ in a love like that.”

The lyrics also read: “I don’t know what a woman like me was doing with a man like you / But now I got a love so true.” As the candid words unfold, the ska-punk icon seems to express that she’s entirely moved on from her previous relationship and the song’s muse, leaving no room for ambiguity. She also sings about finding a “true” love after her “rock bottom” one.

Gwen Stefani Seemingly Shades Ex Gavin Rossdale In New Track 'Somebody Else's'

Stefani and Bush rocker Rossdale, 58, as fans know, tied the knot in 2002 and share three sons; Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10.

The "Hollaback Girl" hitmaker and "Glycerine" artist split in 2015 after almost 12 years of marriage and finalized their divorce the following year.

Stefani revealed her romance with Blake Shelton, her co-star on The Voice, in November 2015. The couple tied the knot in July 2021, at a chapel located on the country superstar's ranch in Oklahoma.

In her new song's chorus, Stefani also sings: "You’re somebody else’s / And it doesn’t even break my heart / You’re somebody else’s / And I pray for them, whoever they are."

She goes on to croon: "Everyday with you is rock bottom / Leavin’ you saved me, my God / Look at me blossom / You’re somebody else’s problem."

Throughout the track, the GXVE mogul appears to label her unidentified former partner as "fake," and at one moment, she goes as far as to declare, "you're dead to me."

During the bridge of "Somebody Else's," many fans were surprised by the icy words: "Narcissistic, semi-psychotic / So manipulated, I bought it." She also sings: "You gaslit my world, it was burning / Had to leave before it stopped turning."

Soon after the mom of three released her latest musical offering last month, fans headed to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts and theories on how Rossdale might've inspired it.

"@gwenstefani you outdid yourself ma'am !!! LOVE this new era & direction," one listener gushed as another added: "Gavin Rossdale's ass listening to "Somebody Else's" by #GwenStefani," along with humorous emojis and a funny gif of John Krasinski making a surprised face on The Office.

While Stefani has yet to reveal who her subject of "Somebody Else's" is, many devotees continue to point fingers at Rossdale being its inspo (and we can see why!)
